Better than...

Reed was the 2nd of us awake this morning. He was in a really happy mood and curled into my lap for a long, sweet hug.

"Is there anything better than a Daddy hug," I asked rhetorically.

"Kisses!," he shouted and gave me a few.

Reed's Smelly Fingers

After their bath last night, Reed and hunter were wrestling and rolling around on my bed, naked. Reed rolls over onto his back, clasps his legs against his body and spreads his butt cheeks with his hands.

Lovely eh?

“ Dad, look what’s in my butt”, says Reed.

Even with a casual glance I could see his pancreas he had gaped his bunghole so wide.

“There is nothing in your bung hole, Reed.”

“Then why does it stink?”

“It only stinks when you poop, Reed.”

“Well…when I stick my fingers there sometimes, they smell.”

Hunter's Favorite Shirt in the World (Age 2.5)

Hunter asks for this shirt all the time and is disappointed or even angry when it is in the wash.

I actually removed a couple of long-term stains in Photoshop --this shirt sees heavy duty!

When you ask him which robot is his favorite, he says as he points to each, "This one, this one, this one and this one!"

Bad? Words

Mechelle: What word does Mommy say when she gets mad?

Reed: Dammit!

Hunter: I say shit when I get mad, Mommy!

With Granny Florida at the NJBG

Had a great day with the boys and my Mom at the NJ Botanical Garden in Ringwood on Wednesday (the 8th) last week.

Flowers really weren't in full stride but it was just great being out with family in the verdant Skylands of NJ.

Got Reed & Hunter to walk more than typical but ended up carrying them back simultaneously to the car about a 1/2 mile.

We caught a frog that still had it's tadpole tail (& I inexplicably took no photos of it!), R&H touched a statue's "junk", found a pond I had never seen before. Cant wait to go back!

Click Beetle

I caught a click beetle outside & brought it in to show the boys. Click beetles can snap their head and thorax to flip them into the air and right side up if on their back or to startle predators.

We were all entertained as I have never seen a click beetle so frenetic in its clicking.

After a moment the beetle took flight and we were unable to recapture it.

Reed: "I'm gonna miss that little guy; I loved him."

Big Laugh

Visited Bear Mtn last weekend with the boys and hated the place. It was so crowded, dirty and sleazy I couldn't wait to get outta there.

I like it much more on weekdays in the Fall vie Seven Lakes Drive.

We did have some fun and this photo captured a great moment!

Reed Dresses Hunter

Some nights, Reed proudly dresses his little brother Hunter.

Hunter loves it.

We all love it!
