Shit Reed Says

We are driving along and after a rock song I decide to jimmy in  some Tchaikovsky.

Reed: Oh great, now you're gonna put something on that's not rockin'!

11/26 and 11/27/2011

We went down to the Ramapo today and yesterday as the temperature was above 60F both days. Took Stinkus (aka, Bailey) with us.

River is still pretty high. Hunter insisted on balancing and walking on logs suspended over the water, keeping me on my toes. Water is cold, deep and fast.

Had a good time and found a deer skull which we are bleaching.

Shit Reed Says

Reed is restless and having trouble sleeping. I am lying next to him trying to get him back to sleep.

"I'm scared Dad," Reed says.

"Why?," I ask.

"Your breath smells like an evil curse."

Shit Reed Says

Reed is drinking a big cup of water on our front stairs with Hunter. We just finished putting up our Halloween decorations outside.

Me: That water you are drinking comes from the big lakes we pass in Ringwood.

Reed's eyes go wide and he spits a mouthful of water back into his cup, then relaxes.

Reed: (Turning to Hunter) It's OK, they take out the fish pee and poop.

He starts drinking again...

Shit Reed Says

I have my shirt off and am spraying sun block on my chest.

"Dad, you have a hairy chimp belly and chest."

Carnival with Reed

Hunter fell asleep early last night so Reed and I went to a carnival in Franklin Lakes, NJ alone.

Once we got within eyesight of the carnival Reed was very vocal about how excited he was.

He went on one ride and we began plying our luck at the games. We dumped a lot of $1's before our 1st win, the stuffed dog I'm the pic above. Reed was jumping up and down, "We won! We won!"
We went on to win a couple of plush caterpillars too.

Reed was walking ahead if me, not sure why, but I gave him his space and snapped a few photos from that vantage point.

At the end of the night we we headed back to the car.

"That was the best day ever, Dad!"

I laughed, "Are you sure, I think there have been even better days."

Reed laughed back, "Yea, but it was one of the 5 best days, and my best days are with you."

These are the best days for sure.
